She allegedly stated in a tweet that international cooperation and tough decisions were required to go forward.
Her post follows Vicky Ford, the UK's Minister for Development, who remarked that Ghana is a close ally of the country.
"In my discussion with Hon. Minister Ofori-Atta @MoF Ghana, we addressed the difficulties facing the world economy and the assistance Ghana can receive from the international community, including a potential new @IMFNews program."
"Ghana is not the only country dealing with economic difficulties," Harriet Thompson tweeted. To get through, we must be prepared to make challenging choices and unite internationally. In your new position, @vickyford, we look forward to welcoming you back to Ghana. We are very pleased to see that you adore your jacket produced in Ghana.
Ghana is not alone in facing economic challenges. We must be ready to take the difficult decisions & come together internationally to get through 🇬🇭🇬🇧

The G7 has requested the World Bank to help Ghana and other African nations financially so they can deal with the effects of the economic crisis brought on by force majeure.
The choice was made in Washington, D.C., at a conference of the G7 and African finance ministers that was a part of the ongoing World Bank/International Monetary Fund (IMF) Meetings.
