Many inhabitants of the Ga South Municipality in the Greater Accra Region are still stuck in their homes as a result of the flooding in the Ashalaja, Weija, Oblogo, and Tetegu regions.

Many homes have been on the verge of being inundated, and the locals have described it as a crisis scenario.


Canoes were required by some people to prevent drowning. They label the predicament as a crisis.

They claim that the overflow of the Weija dam is what caused the disaster.

Many locals have had to abandon their homes as a result of the flood, which began on Sunday evening but is now at an extremely furious level.


On Sunday night, it started to get closer, so we assumed it would end. Later, it became too much, and we had to leave our respective homes this morning. Some items are still jammed inside the homes. It usually happens, but not to this extent, a woman said.


Another homeowner said, "I think it is extremely dangerous at this moment because I have noticed the water has reached a new level."
