KiDi, the current VGMA Artist of the Year, is pleading with fans not to judge him based on his previous rude tweets.
He responded for the first time to some mocking tweets he sent almost a decade ago during an appearance on Hitz FM.
"All I ask is that people stop defining or judging me based on who I was ten years ago. On Daybreak Hitz, KiDi said, "I am not even the same person I was a year ago.
He voiced his thoughts on the return of his earlier "mean" tweets.
KiDi admitted, "I felt quite ashamed. "I felt depressed, unhappy, and defeated, and there were many things going on in my head at the moment."
After his European tour, the "Habibi" singer arrived in Ghana to a hostile reception.
Unintentionally, the haters on social media clashed with the publication of his EP, 4 PLAY.
He also talked about how the incident made it difficult for him to interact with fans at the EP listening session.
"I recall being at my EP listening session when it occurred. I had to leave in the middle of it because I started crying in front of everyone. Just a lot, really. I had to go home and go," KiDi recalled.
He responded that he doesn't go around thinking of things to delete because he doesn't recall posting the old tweets in the first place when questioned why he didn't delete them.
It doesn't excuse the things he said in the past, even though the tweets were published during a different social media period when people didn't care as much about how harsh they were.
The Lynx Entertainment signee stated his remorse and apologized for the previous derogatory statements after the trolls on social media.
The "Sugar Daddy" is now on a media tour to promote his most recent 4-track extended play, 4 PLAY. This comes after a successful European tour.
